Minor Bragging Rights

I know this is really minor, but it represents a major coup for me. I finally beat Delin and the Pyre of Man on expert. Based on the posts I've read here, I realize that the l33t players here have consistently soloed this wildlands with just their sov and maybe a clubwielder or two. But Delin has consistently beaten me up and taken my lunch money. I finally had a game that was, for all intents and purposes, well and truely over - only one faction left and they were terrified of me. So I decided to create an army just fot the sole purpose of finally kicking Delin's tail.

The winning army for me was: sov, armed with Curgen's Maul (a fire mage, so moderately useless, but with so much stacked initiative etc by this point he was worth adding to the army), an air/water champ with blizzard, and a 9-stack army of 7's: 3 guardian cavalry (boreal blades, champion plate), 3 ice magisters (hailstone staff), and a lightning mage (leht staff). The whole battle was over in one turn.

Of course, I will probably never play another game long enough to get an army that powerful, but damn, it was sweet revenge :D

Just thought I'd share a Fallen Enchantress moment.

Holy hell I've never built an army that powerful. I've BOUGHT champions plates for heroes once but that's as close I've been. Must have felt good to blast that guy off of the map.

I remember when I discovered one of my heroes had Sunder (Wind/Fire Offense spell whatever its called) and blew that sand elemental god out of his Wildlands after 300 turns of getting my ass whopped. Felt good. I'm willing to soul suck a champion onto my sovereign if need be to get access to Sunder. So valuable.

2 spells: Protection from fire (random chance of appearing in the tech tree), and Nature's Cloak. Both will totally screw over Delin (and pretty much all other fire elementals). The same strategy works just as well on Vetrar (but with ice, of course).

Most of my crystal goes into fire/ice protection. It is very very powerful. Can help to trivialize tougher fights or Offensive casters.

Oh yeah, crystal was definitely the limiting factor - just one of those cav units cost 328 crystal. I just kept hitting end turn. Took forever - why I won't be doing it again...

@ Naytch: And yeah, the mob drop was, erm, disappointing: rusty shileld. Seriously?

It was still worth it :D

LOL... I wish they would make an epic loot list to draw from over a certain xp threshold... or a magic item randomizer would be great!
