Windows 8 Pro x64 Compatibility?

Hi Folks,

I'm wondering if WindowFX is compatible with Windows 8 yet?  I've downloaded the demo but it unfortunately fails to launch and I've noticed that the web site makes no mention of Windows 8 anywhere, plus this forum doesn't seem to confirm the current situation.  I received a Stardock discount code via email new letter and been really interested in WindowFX after seeing the video demo's of the product so any further information regarding Windows 8 would be great?

WindowFX 5.1 is compatible with Windows 8.

What happens when you try to run the demo?  Do you get the prompt to start the trial?

It seems the trial download is the old build that didn't want to start a trial on all systems.

To fix that create the following folder :

c:\programdata\Stardock\Registrations

c:\programdata is hidden by default but if you press winkey + R to open the run dialog you should be able to type c:\programdata and press enter and it will open the folder.  Then create th Stardock folder and then the Registrations folder inside that.

Then start WindowFX again and the trial should start fine.

But. Because the program. needed AERO.

But Win 8 contains no AERO.

How can it work? O_O
