How do I install mods
I am clueless on how to do this, I use steam and can't find any folders to place the mods in that I downloaded. Also is the star trek mod able to play with rebellion?

Sacrifice of Angels 2 is in the works for Reb, so not yet.
Rebellion Path

If Reb is all you have, make sure the mods are Reb compatible, a lot are in not ready or are in beta testing phase. Big job.
While you wait for the Trek mod, you may as well see what else is available.
Means it's for Rebellion.
Oh ya, forgot about Zombies very good thread.
It would be an awesome thread if SOA is on top where it should be ...
I was going to suggest alphabetical order, or by expansion, but I don't think SOA gets put first either way.
Unless we come up with an actual way of ranking mods...

Thanks for the link. What mods are usable for rebellion? and whats the ETA on the star trek mod really looking forward to playing that one.
As I said, in that link there is a list of mods. All those with that Rebellion icon next to it are (in theory) available for Rebellion. You may also find the Moddb page useful, as these only have mods for Rebellion (but not all are released, and there are some that aren't on the list).
The mods that have not only ported themselves to Rebellion but have actually add features to take advantage of the new Rebellion additions include Sins of a Galactic Empire, Infinite Space, the Enhanced 4X Mod, Fall of Kobol and others.
Having problems again with getting the mods to work, I have it in the folder and did all the steps in the tutorial but nothing happens in the game when I enable the mods and click apply changes. The mods I installed is the Star Wars Requiem mod, which it says its up to date with the new patch. The enable mod checksum stays at 0 and I don't know whats wrong.
You have an extra folder that was produced when you extracted it. You should see "Mod Folder" -> "GameInfo"/Other files and folders, not "Mod Folder" -> "Mod Name" -> "GameInfo/Other files and folders".
If you were at the tutorial, how did you miss this? Not big enough?
Here is what the directory structure should look like. For Rebellion, the install folder will be
Mods-Rebellion v1.1

This shows the folder in a folder bad installation. The game will still find "My Mod" but does not have any of the files in the proper directory.

Another bad install and here the game will show mods like "GameInfo", Mesh etc.

My problem is my setup doesn't look like that exactly. I don't know what I did wrong cause I followed the steps exactly, so by showing me the pictures again doesn't do anything to help. But I think I screwed it up even more trying to figure it out. Now every time I try to redownload the files it comes under adobe reader, and I can't change it back for some reason. I am no computer wiz so this is confusing for me, and its most likely a lot easier than I am making it out to be.
Hmm, this could be a challenge.
Do you have an archive program like 7z or WinRar or WinZip?
I highly recommend 7z, it's free and opens all archive types. www.7-zip.org/
You may have associated the archive with Adobe. You should be able to right click the file and 'Open with' and select one of the programs I listed above. Or open one of the programs I listed above and open the download file from inside that program.

Did you find
C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.1
?
We will need more detail on the steps you did and maybe a screenshot of that folders contents.
sorry to budge in on the conversation, but i am really new to this but have been playing sins from the begnning and only now do i want to put in a couple of mods. I ave been encountering some of the same problems this person who started the thread, with the fact of having the mods in the right folder that the mod pathway says to go to but wont fully enable it. i have not gone as far as redownloading it seeing as what it can do if i did. OH and i did delete one ile that went to mod 1.1 as mine says to go to 1.5, so now i only have the one file but still nothing... pff us rookies
But hey something might eventually come up.
