WindowFX 5 crashes when clicking on trial version

hey everyone.

just updated to Windows 8 and was busting my head trying to find the setting for the "wobbly" windows that I had seen at my friend's home. he told me it was through Stardock's WindowFX 5 that he was using it. He is on Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. I am on 64-bit Windows 8 Pro on both my desktop and laptop pcs.

in both instances, the software installs correct, but when I click on the button to try it free for 30 days, it instantly crashes. this is happening across two computers and I have not been able to enjoy the wobbly-ness on my computers.

 

any idea why?

Where did you download the WindowFX trial from?

There was a buggy version of 5.1 which caused that, but it was replaced and all new downloads should be fine.

As a fix you can either download the latest installer from us, or you need to create the following folder :

C:\programdata\Stardock\Registrations.

The programdata folder is hidden by default.

thanks for the reply. creating the folders worked.

I downloaded it two different times, both from this website directly. not sure why it's still buggy. I even tried running it as administrator and nothing.

 

but creating the folders worked. loving it so far, so you're probably getting another purchase come January :-D
