My view of the game

Sorry for my spelling/English, but I am not a native speaker.

My experience of the game. Version 1.02

Playing it on normal is too easy I won the game several times without even creating an army, the heroes I found have been enough.

On challenging, the AI is playing its best….. hm

I did not see a really good attack, were the enemy really try take over all my cities. I also so seen a lot of times enemies who declared war to me (don’t know why, there have been still land to settle) and this guys did not even had the technology or magic or beasts or whatever to be even a little bit dangerous for my armies. So the Question stays for me; why do they attack someone who can easy crush them to dust?

The only real danger were the creatures who walks on the map, nothing better than an dragon in the neighborhood  J

The Spell of Making victory is too easy and too cheap to reach.

There should be more resources needed for the spell, maybe some artifact from a quest also.

Why is the AI trading the war-tech vs. war-tech, the same for magic and civ. I did not see any bonus in it.

The  Monsters were very often ignoring AI units and the cities (especially the cities). When the AI builds an city just in front of the dragon lair, the dragon walks away if I conquer the city the dragon comes back and attack the city, and for over 90 rounds he just sit on the boarder as he walked away … also. That’s sometimes too bad, but on the other side I am not sure if the AI really could survive an aggressive world J

The Spell of Mana Shield is tooooooooooo powerful .

Your get NO damage you only lost mana from your pool, that is a joke, with an pool of an few thousand, no one can kill an hero.

The same for Manablast it cost 30 mana, 2 rounds of casting and do 10% damage of you manapool, I killed dragons with one spell.

This two spells were something like cheating, and I got them with an very easy quest (it stood deadly) were I have to kill 3 trolls, so it was very easy.

In my eyes the Mana Shield should be changed to only absorbs 50% of the damage and loosing 3 mana for every hp lost. And the damage of the blast should be reduced, I mean kill a dragon for 30 mana should not be allowed at all.

The way finding of the units is somewhat questionable, especially if you said to them walk from city A to city B and both cities were on rivers sometimes, I sow the units leave the city over the river just to try to reach the roads over it…..

I write a lot of critics but I love the game it makes a lot of fun playing it, and I am looking forward for new patches to make the game best fantasy strategy game ever J

Your guys made a good job with the game,

thank you

I've also been having a lot of fun with the game. Its basically Heroes of Might and Magic meets Civilization.

Its got a few rough edges still, but overall, great game. Luckily the game is easy to mod, so I've been able to fix a few things on my own. One of the problem I found is that towns are way too easy to conquer even with a small army. I made all town militias have chainmail armor and come 8 per squad. This makes them very powerful early game as they get chainmail before you've even researched it, however they're still just level 1 guys, so late game if you have high level units in plate armor, you'll simply walk all over the militia. But at least you need to pay attention when attacking, so there's that. Also the computer gets this bonus as well, so everyone's defenses are beefed up.

The AI does seem a bit passive. I'm playing a game on challenging right now, and the AI is more or less just sitting there while I build up cities, research, and armies, as well as having my hero army doing quests everywhere. I'm not at war with anyone yet, but I'm ranked 3 out of 5 factions on the map, so I'd think the #1 and #2 guys at least would want to beat me up. So far all they've been doing is wanting to trade tech with me, and nothing more.

No auto-build for cities or outposts does make managing a large kingdom a little tedious at times. A lot of busywork going around all cities and outposts and making sure they're all being productive gets old. An auto-manage button to have city or outpost improvements automatically added to the build queue would be nice.
