Possible Deliverance Bug

So I have the most recent patch.  Playing as AL.  My only other enemy is a AR in a 3 star galaxy.  I am infiltrating his star as I have the other 2.  I tried to establish a planet in his star system as a beach head.  I built a deliverance engine because he was using them to turn my planets.  I figured "hey, shoot myself with my own deliverance engine."  Well, I believe it treated my OWNED planet as an enemy planet and dropped the loyalty.  Has anyone seen this?  If you are wondering, I was using my deliverance engine to counteract the enemy's deliverance engine.
