Married with Children

I was just wondering and hoping if the marriage, and family linage thing would come back?

I wish.

Derek and his team made a conscious decision to drop it.  I'm assuming the only way they'll bring it back will be if you hire a very large man named Vito to visit each of their homes late at night with a message.  But even then I wouldn't count on it.

I've only read about the feature since I didn't play the first game. But it sounds cool an very needed since the map generator can majorly shaft you on Champions. In my current game I got only one Champion. My closest neighbor Resoln got like 8 of them. With the lineage thing at least I could have created one or two other family heroes.

Bet it comes back in a paid expansion! Outside of boats/water movement, coming in the map expansion pack 1, marriage/families is the next most requested item.

It was something I liked about WoM too. It added an extra element to diplomacy, and an extra in the role playing dept as well. The diplomacy in this game is a weak area imo also, so hopefully it's implemented in an expansion or dlc.

...Marriage/families?  Based on what survey?

I'm thinking more spells, more variety of terrain tiles, greater resolution in unit creation, more traits, more sovereigns, larger maps, and plenty of extensive quest systems are probably up there, too. :)

Those things are all cool too, but dynasties was a really special addition that made Elemental unique.

Finding a good wife or husband in the first game was pretty key, but there were lots and lots of requests to tweak the system and to fix buggy issues. Also, meta gaming meant you could pump out some truly terrifying children and you end up with too many heroes that way perhaps?
