Beginner Help

My fleets are continuously getting wiped out, both by the AI and by other players, even when I have numbers and power advantages (Four lvl 5 plus cap ships (2 Durnovs, 1 Kol, 2 Sorva) and a titan (Ragnarov) on my side with 30 Kodiaks, 40 Percheron and 20 Hoshikos vs Five lvl 4+ capital ships, a starbase and a medium sized fleet, along with a bunch of defense platforms)  I kept my fleet on the other side of the planet of the starbase, choosing to deal with it after I dealt with the defending fleet.  Next thing I know, my percherons were useless because my fighters and bombers were being swatted down like flies.  My sovas were taking a pounding, and no amount of sheild restore and repair bots would keep them alive, even with TWO Durnovs.  The Kol was, like most Kols, taking a beating, but it was in very good shape.  The kodiaks were gone within two minutes.  The only ship that was generally unscathed was the Ragnarov.  I had maybe a 60-40 shot of coming away with the planet in my grasp.

Then all hell broke loose and the AI brought in its own Titan.  My entire fleet was wiped out within a space of a minute, with the exception of the Ragnarov, which I decided to sacrifice to destroy as many of the cap ships as it could to gain experience.

I'm just wondering what I did wrong here.  My fleet was of equal size, even when the AI brought in the Titan.  Idk why I got my clock cleaned so thoroughly and quickly.

If it makes a difference, I was playing against the advent.

Do you have a replay of this so we can actually look and tell you what went wrong?

Can we also get a more specific fleet composition of the Advent fleet. Advent fleets synergize well and with 4 capitals and their frigates they can dominate.

I would say that  you got hit with the starbases meteor ability but seeing that you said you were away from the starbase this entire time. I assume you were out of range of their abilities.

The Advent Rebels titan will eat fleets with its Chastic Burst. It's better of a large fleet buster than the TEC Rebels Ragnarov tian.

Sorry, I don't normally record games against the AI.  I do record multiplayer games simply so I can watch how the people who dominate play and try to improve my own game.

I'm pretty sure the Advent had a Progenitor, 2 Radiance, and a Rapture, but I can't say for sure.  I was playing against the Advent Rebels, too, so I'm sure Chastic Burst was part of it.  I just don't understand how my entire fleet's health just melted away.  I've never seen anything like it.

AoEs on Titans are Frigate eaters. Need more capital ships. Wow, now there is a statement that was unheard of before Rebellion.

Well the two Radiances probably burned all the Antimatter on both your Dunovs pretty damn fast, then the same to your other caps and hoshikos, which effectively cut your shield / hull restoration out of the game.

The Advent on the other hand had plenty of shield regen thanks to the two progenitors, and since they were defending I'm willing to bet they were in range of some repair platforms and possibly antimatter regenerating temples of renewal.
