GalCiv II on Windows 8 Release Preview

Hi,

I've installed the new Release Preview of Windows 8 on my Notebook to test it before it comes available later this year. When I try to install GalCiv II from the GameStop App, it refuses to install on this OS. The chance that the game is working smoothly on Win8 is big, all my other games are working too but I think the GameStop App might has the old programmer's fault checking on selected OS.

Has anybody an idea to get GalCiv II on my Win8 notebook? Maybe install it anywhere else an then somehow transfer the files onto the notebook?

If the GameStop app isn't allowing it, that's something GameStop would need to address. However even if you did get it installed, you may not be able to run the game as the registration system does not support the Win8 betas.

If you have GC2 Ultimate, you can just download the game straight from the Stardock store. Otherwise, if GameStop can't change the OS install permissions, support@stardock.com may be able to help get the game by other means and/or provide a registration workaround.
