Planet consumption. How?

I feel like kind of an idiot, but for the lif of me i can figure out how to consume a planet. Where is the button to trigger it. Ive done the necesary research. Help

It's the scuttle button. Look at it, it'll tell you just how much glorious resources you'd get from scuttling a planet.

 

Terran planets grant 10 000 credits, forgot-how-many thousand metal and 5000 crystal.

yeeah...     It's worth it to keep the planet for its credit income.

Now asteroids,  that's another story...

As others have said, a good strat is to do that to captured enemy worlds so that you essentially reduce the total number of possible planets the opponent can get income from. I think it's a bit time consuming to play that card effectively, but hey... to each his own. Unless I took it and burned it.
