Various bits of 0.914 feedback, including some possible bugs

Featuring absent warhorses and immortal champions

Really enjoying 0.914. Have a game going on a small map as Capitar vs Gilden, Resoln and Magnar.

Gilden are insane, dominating half the map, building wonders and having a great military score (though mostly through weaker units, from what I have seen). Resoln are the weakest faction but are enthusiastically building their new spider units. None of the AI are as war-hungry as 0.913, I don't think anyone has fought yet despite a big military gap between first and last place players.

Monsters are still ignoring the AI players a bit, but the big, powerful ones guarding lairs are also less aggressive towards me, and the smaller wandering ones actually wander, rather than make a beeline for undefended cities and outposts. So it is at least fairer in that respect. I am also enjoying the massed numbers of monsters wandering out of the wildlands. I had to abandon a previous game where I started too close to the swamp wildland and hugely powerful armies would wander out of it, but this time I'm near the desert and the mobs have been level-appropriate, and for a while were pouring out at such a speed that it really did seem I was being invaded.

The other exception to the calmer monsters is the hyper-aggressive Knights of Asok, but I found a way to deal with them. My custom sovereign is a Diplomat, and the Silver Tongue ability has twice turned them over to my side. I really hope this is intentional as it's a nice way to make this career pay off before wars against players start. However, Diplomat doesn't seem to make my trades any more valuable as described.

The AI is much smarter about picking up goodie huts (including from under my nose) but have left some in their territory, and never seem to do quests. I have also encountered both versions of the rat quest (with the giant spider and without), which only happened because Gilden ignored the one in their territory - if I had chosen the 300 Gold reward both times I would be very wealthy indeed!

The change to the Training Yard is great, I now have one in my dedicated troops-building city.

I know she was added a couple of versions ago, not this one, but the champion who summons bears is amazing!

OK, on to the bugs:

Capitar's warhorse is great and works fine for units, but I don't seem to be able to buy one (or a regular horse) from my cities. I did randomly manage to buy one, once, from Gilden or Magnar (I forget which) but can't any more. Going to explore this a bit more and then try to report it if it doesn't resolve itself.

On a related note, I tried a game as Gilden (last version) and could design Golem units, but they didn't show up in my build list. Will try again on next game.

Arrows still sometimes coming from the side in tactical battles.

Someone has reported this already in proper bug report, but the champion Nosmina refuses to die when attacked - her bodyguards die, but she revives with one HP.

re: ai and quests, i have a theory that what is happening is that the ai when it finds a quest assigns a champion unit to it. but it seems like either that xhampion is very far away or perhaps becomes immobilized (killed) on its way. i had a game where i found a quest with a scout unit maybe 40 tiles away but right on the ai's border. the ai had a champ unit standing next to the quest location, but wasn't moving to pick it up. so i marched my sov down and about two turns away the ai's sov walks over and picks up the quest! rats!

the other idea is that the ai reacts better to things the player can see. but that doesn't seem like something Brad would do.

I don't know about the Capitar variety but in my games so far I've only been able to purchase actual warhorses for champions in cities that actually incorporated a horses resource within the city boundaries.

Ah, that could be it, I'll check it out. Certainly I have been able to buy warg mounts since I researched the tech, but that was from a city with a warg den nearby. And I haven't been able to replicate Gilden selling warhorses - last time I checked I could buy a regular horse, which I couldn't before, but if it's tied to cities, that could explain it.
