What will happen to DirectX9 when Microsoft kills Windows XP? Will the game have to be made in DirectX11, or something to that effect? Is DirectX9 old now? Or will it be ok?

DirectX 9 (and any other version of DirectX) generally comes packed with any game that uses it, no matter on which kind of operating system you play. You don't have to worry about not being able to accuire the correct DirectX version for your game if you upgrade to a newer OS.

Besides, older DirectX packages are also available for download on the web.
