[MOD] Replacement Splash Screen

I cant describe how much I dislike the loading screen just using the blown up icon for sins... so I made a replacement for it. And am deciding to share it.

TO USE:

Please backup your original file before overwriting it.  No longer necessary, thanks GoaFan.

 

1.  Download the zip archive from HERE

2 . extract it's folder to your Rebellion Mods directory. 

    Usually in "Documents \ My Games \ Ironclad Games \ Mods - Rebellion v0.90"

3. You will have a folder there called "SplashScreen Replacement"

 

4. Load up sins, Go to options, Select Mods and enable it from there!

Copy into your Sins Rebellion Texture directory !!!!!!!

IE: C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sinsofasolarempirerebellion\textures\

Overwrite "LoadingSplash.tga" with the one you downloaded.

I wouldn't do this.

Instead make a real mod of it my simply going to My documents, my games, ironclad games, sins rebellion. In that folder there should be a folder called Mods-[CurrentVersion]. In that folder, make a folder called Splash Screen Replacement, then in that one make a folder called textures. Then put your nice image in their. Deal with the spash image a few more times so you start the game and enable the mod, but after that you'll have your nice loading screen without ever touching the original texture file.

Granted replacing a texture is probably harmless, but its good practice to never touch the base game files in Sins, since its mod system is so nice.
