Well if the space ponies are refugees, it sounds like they are running from the same thing that's chasing the Vasari. ;)

That said, space ponies have been in the game since original Sins, its just they always seem to be on the occupied planet for some reason. Normally they rarely appear at random planets. From what I understand it was a community joke during the first beta.

So Goa... you're proposing that whatever is chasing the Vasari destroyed the candy mountains?

I ran into space ponies today too.  All I know is that I haven't seen a single living care bear in a system with space ponies yet... be careful.

You know for a while now I've been of the opinion that Space Ponies should somehow give race-specific bonuses.

Just something basic, for example:

Enslaved Pony Labour for the Vasari, giving the planet cheaper upgrades.

Advent declare them sacred and gain culture bonuses from the planet.

TEC would just make them tourist attractions and reap the profits.

This wouldn't really work with them always being at the occupation planet though, oh well, Horse Power.
