Latest Update Gone

Version 0.75 Came and Went. here?

Yesterday, Steam pops up in the lower righthand corner of my screen indicating an update has just been installed for Sins Rebellion. Cool. So I shut down my work, load Sins Rebellion and I see I am running version 0.75. That's up from 0.62 which was up from 0.61, the original Beta download version. However, today, I go back into Sins Rebellion to finish my game and noticed the saved game is gone and I am running versin 0.62, not 0.75. In fact, I can't seem to find 0.75 anywhere. If I run from within Steam I get 0.62, if I run from the dektop icon I get 0.62. What the heck happened to 0.75???

Where in the World is Version 0.75???

Well, you see, some guys at Stardock were having a rather dull Friday evening pulling an all nighter working on the game. Naturally one of them went to go get the drinks and try to lighten things up. Now I don't know what the liquor store sold him or if he spiked the drinks as an early April fools prank (you can never trust the beer guy these days), but a few of them got more intoxicated than they were planning on and hit a certain big red button they weren't supposed to press, accidentally releasing their latest beta version to the public.

 

In all seriousness, it was a mistake, they didn't mean to release version 0.75, and it was not meant for general testing. So they repatched it back to 0.62, as if it never happened.

And you still have your 0.75 saved games, just happens, 0.62 uses a different folder/directory:

Still I don't think you can used them, not until the Devs re-release patch 0.75, and even then they might not work anymore. Hope this helps.

I can't log into the game, whenever I go on steam it says the game is unavailable.  I see others logged in just fine...any ideas to assist in my plight?

I think maby your machine has not redownloaded the old version. right click and ask steam to verify the file integrity. Should fix it

It was actually all a big April Fool's joke, but they forgot to account for daylight savings time :grin:
