Semi vague movie reference (Thx for finishing it Natjur) says, "Give us the scoop, when is the next Beta coming.  Heck, when is the next big journal with pictures.

Killin' us!!

Wouldn't that be closer to output?

hmm.

There is an understood 'I' in Johnny 5's, "Need Input" statement.

By requesting input, I am inferrring that another's output will be my input.  Given the context of the situation, it can be assumed by others that I am asking for information on the next Beta, another journal, or some other addiction-quelling piece of information.

Hope that clears things up.

Input . . . instead of using the canned pioneers and outcasts, I suggest you edit one of these units to make a custom unit with both the "Conscripted" and "Weak" traits, change the weapon to a "Two-Handed Staff," and add the "Scout" trait.  This gives you a cheaper unit which still has the capability to make a new city.

I hope this changes :S
I loved 1 thing in the "Alpha Centauri" unit design module, that was you could design almost all theyre units (the only problem I ever found was getting the correct graphics on the "Probe Teams" (Spies), dont know if you tried it..

I think it would be great if i was able to give my pioneers the ability to see further, or boost units that defend them with more defense, or more movement speed.

PS, talking about that game, colony pods on huge ballistic rockets is the most silly way of building new cities ^^

3 move pioneers wouldn't be so bad ... but I can see how they'd be move 2 as well.

Just cast Tireless March on them.

except pioneers are not very important in the late game? :P

They are when a Wildland goes down.

Maybe your platform won't create 3 move Pioneers, but it works just fine on my platform.  The game calls them something else, but they still create cities if you don't change the gender.  Only females can found cities.

Wait, females only are required for making new citys..... kind of makes sense, but still sexist! So the three women units can make a new city which starts with 3 pop, and next year there are four there, either some random male from the wilds joined them, or they were preg on the way.

I thought the edit option on pioneers was listed as a bug? And why do they have a build road option after making your own type?

Nonsense.  I do it all the time.

Open up design screen and choose pioneer then 'edit'.  Make your changes, voila!

(p.s. The next game you start will have this new unit 'bugged' so that it can't settle but can manually build roads... so you need to edit the base unit in every game you play.)

If you turn off "disable particle effects," and delete all custom sovereigns from all saved games, then create 3 move Pioneers in a new game, the "bugged unit" will not appear in any subsequent new games for as long as "disable particle effects" remains off.  I realize that is convoluted, but hey, what do you expect from a FORTRAN77 programmer.

Oops!  I mean custom Pioneers, not custom sovereigns.
