Creating a settlement

Hi

 

I'm constantly trying to create a settlement, but I can't because the tile doesn't have grain.

Is there anyway to tell which tiles have grain?

 

I can build an outpost to get around this, but it would be useful to know where I can

and can't build.

 

any suggestions?
