Advent Culture

"Will the role of culture be enhanced? In particular, it is supposed to be Advent's specialty, but doesn't actually provide much of an advantage at all, especially in competitive games. Players know that they can just build one or two culture structures and then forget about it.

Culture’s role is being enhanced, but not in any way that would require more player management. The Advent players will gain some new advantages to being in their culture and other players would be wise to not just let that slide."

Interesting. What do you’s all think, they say it will be improved but not how.

Personal guess, if advent culture takes over an enemy planet, you should colonise it at the same time, converting all current structures into yours, like a domination on a planetary level, of course to prevent it being to powerful it would exclude starbases or perhaps even them but all of them have a half life of about 5-10 minutes before you have to build your own to replace them, depending on the level of the upgrade required to capture them in the first place?

That's no improvement at all; overtaking a planet by culture basically never happens because it's so slow and there are so many ways to stop it.

This idea seems awfully complicated to me. Besides, it would be rather unfair to conquer another race's structures.

This sounds to me like Advent will get more combat bonuses other than shield mitigation.  I wonder if there will be economic bonuses as well and if Rebels will get those with the Loyalists getting the combat ones.

well, what i always thought would be a good idea was if all advent combat ships had their own unique bonuses to being in culture. I'm sure I brought it up somwhere on here too.

For example, maybe guardians' shield ability stacks in culture, but not out-of culture. Or possibly the Subjugator does something useful. You'd see "In culture: +1000 range" on the Illuminator or something. I randomly thinking of these things, so exact mechanics aren't balanced, but the idea is that it's not 1 additional thing to all ships. It's 1 unique thing to each ship that makes it better at what it does.

Some ships, it shouldn't be a big deal either way (like maybe the disciple since it's already above grade), but the idea is to make advent want culture, and not just say "that's nice, but i think i'll build more ships instead". Then, if properly implemented, this could boost the Advent while not changing anything if you take out their culture.

Advent are going to be getting lot of buffs that will be spread out between the rebels and loyalists. I think this is just a taste of what rebellion is really about- To be able to pick any race and defeat any other.

e.g Autocast has been fixed so we could see better guardian shield projection frequency and stacking while the Subjugator could more easily execute its abilities than just standing around waiting for movements to calm down.

The thing is no one wants to be pushed around if they want to win. These buffs will hopefully help the advent push back esp for the casual player.

"hahahaha }:)   Its time to push back"

In games that are worth playing (read: against humans), culture is honestly never a game-winning tactic.

With many things (though not all), its best to aim the balance toward multiplayer because that's where the cost/benefit of every unit in the game has the most impact. The only problem with it is that Sins multiplayer overly favors a very specific set of settings and maps (mainly 5v5, huge single star random map, all fastest no pirates) which might ignore settings that would favor other things.

para mi tendria que cambiar, porque las estrategias que funcionan ahora solo funcionan en esas circunstancias ( en mapas 5 vs. 5, ...)
