Started over

Started over on my Grunge Punk project; Lady Vampothika was so very nice to correctly cut my start menu and with that, I was able to quickly catch back up, at least to the point I was at before. Please, let me know what you think, comments/criticisms/bricks welcome =D

I can tell ya...When Vampy first came here and I saw what some people were sending her, and for her to understand what was to be done with it... Ryvermist gave a CLEAR guide to what he wanted. Out of the different pictures he sent, one was called "End product" Good on ya Ryvermist" :star:

Running Windows 7 home and wondered if there's anyway to replace the border around account pic

the blue gray border; is OOOgly.

My thanks, in advance, for any/all help~  =)

Edit: Want to have a start/user pic on start menu, but with that border, all it will do is glare at you~

Changed the wallpaper :P to one I made from a magazine cover, added an animated start button, and started skinning IE parts

Sorry for the interlude, real life has been a tad intrusive as of late. I will be posting updates as I dust off the works, and figure out wth I was doing, for those of you who are interested~

No need to apologize.
Real-life comes before anything. I for one know everything about that.

WiP named Low Key (trying to go very minimal :) ) But needed some help with the start menu...I'm obviously doing something wrong, even though I CAN read, and Lady Vampothika has an extremely helpful tutorial. Kitty had cut out my start menu before, which, still having the pieces, I was able to work out how to cut another. The first one was awful, for some reason, if it has a picture on it (start menu) it REFUSED to line up. so went way more basic.

ANYWAY ( I DO tend to run on at the keyboard, ya? ;) ) I needed some help moving the search box...is that an inherited spot? Meaning is it defined by the start menu I make, and I'd either have to change that, or live with it? Or is there some way to move the whole search box UP by about 6-8 pixels, so it's inside my menu? My thanks, for any/all help, in advance~

P.S: It's great to finally be back~

Welcome back Ryvermist.

You can change position of the Searchbox to almost anywhere WITHIN the Bottom-part.

Goto-Bottombar/extra settings tab/searchbar/Horizontal, vertical offset.

Have fun ! :sun:

Worked like a charm, my thanks, hero~

New question ;)  How do I get my tray section to be the same color as taskbar? I'm using the same texture, it just shows up lighter

OH! The text on my log off button...how do I get rid of it? I dont want it to say 'Shut Down' I'd like nothing there at all, except my imported image =)

My thanks, in advance, for any/all help~

Just use a block of magic pink for the tray section(255,0,255). It will make the tray invisible.

You can do that in the fonts section. Add a new font (doesn't matter what font you choose). Then select change font. You'll see a slider at the bottom for the alpha level. Move it all the way to the left. Name your font something like invisible font or something and close the window. Now you can use that font for the shutdown button.

My apologies, I know I'm driving everyone nuts, but I have another issue. (Although, why I thought I would NOT have any issues doing anything technical mystifies me)

NO matter what I size the log off image for shut down, it stretches it. I've been unable to find out why :(

The restart is the image on the right, no problems whatsoever, the shut down is the left one (under the mouse).

My thanks, for everyone's time~

What size is the image including the blank surrounding canvas?

Better yet, can you show the image with all 3 states here? upload it to imageshack and post it here.

In the text margins, set it to all 0. Then select Center (true size, no margins) from the dropdown above.

Should work.

I can't believe I'm this DIM. I hate to keep imposing on everyone, but this is driving me straight around the bend. Can you please explain what Ddropdown? Bottom is before I add log off button, top is after...can see its already stretched, but no clue what's going wrong. Thanks very much for having the patience to deal with my obvious mental deficiencies  :(

No problem. You need to look at the painting margins, not the text margins:

Remember: set the top, bottom, left, right numbers to 0 before changing the dropdown to Center (True size, no margins)
