Patch Recording/Replays Please

Recording/Replays

1.Sick of not being able to watch old replays. Don't u think they should make some kind of emulator for old engines so we can still watch them. Or keep the replaced files to be able to run the recordings. Its sad we cant view them.

2. What do u think of changing the saved recorded/auto-recorded games to a more appropriate folder. Why is the recording located in a hidden folder? Please we need a better folder thats accessible for any computer user.

3.Scrolling time frames for recordings serially x8 speed and not being able to choose a specific time is annoying. pretty sure its possible to make the game can jump to that instance of time picked by the player for any recording.

4.Make recordings available on Impulse (rebellion plz dont disappoint) ..

1. You can keep the old files. Use the archive method before you update.

2. Blame Microsoft.

3. Would be nice.

4. Impulse is now owned by GameStop. Doubt they would allow it now.

Replays work by reproducing the commands issued in the actual game--it's not a video. So while it might be feasible to have snapshots of the game state at arbitrary points every N minutes that you could skip to, there's really no way to allow you to skip ahead to a specific user-defined point in a replay.

hence... recorded files can desync and stuff as well, even if the origional game didnt. or something.

Rise of nations replays worked the same way... and there was NOTHING funnier than using a cheat nuke durring a replay to cause the game to totally and eventually frag up.
