I recently reinstalled my game and went to update my game's version but the file can no longer be found. Is there any way for my to update my basic game? I hate being forced to play against Pirates when I don't want to.
what version are you playing?
from the sound of it... a reallllly really old version, like pre 1.05.
Have you registered your copy? If you have, you should be able to download patchs from impulse.
If you havent... find your serial number... then go here
hit the get impulse button, install it, make an account (assuming you dont already have one.) Once you got it up and running, go to "my games" and hit the "register product" button. fill out the little form, and you should see sins appear, with an update avalible button. click. done. play!
Did you actually purchase the game or did you pirate it? If you're a pirate, well F-you then! If you bought the game then you need to register your CD key with Impulse in order to download patches. You could also then completely uninstall the game and then reinstall it by downloading it via Impulse.
In rediculously old versions, you cannot turn off pirates IIRC. Thats what he means. preety sure.
Yeah, I'm glad you can turn them off now. It's been a really nice feature for a really long time. 
Wow, so he's been playing all this time on, say, Version 1.02 (or whatever came out of the box)? I guess I wouldn't know since I patched to v1.04 as soon as I installed the game.
I've been saying for some time that there must be players out there who are still on ancient versions of the game, completely unaware of the existence of Impulse or the expansions who probably think the mysterious "Ironclad Online" button is some sort of a broken feature or a feature that was never implemented.
you would think the people would know of impulse because if you hit the update or download button in game it takes you right to the download page of impulse.
