Elemental: can't load saved campaign games after 8/27 Update
Ran the 8/27 update and now can't load any of my saved campaign files. this is very frustrating - not hapy with the thought of starting over. Anyone have a solution?

same thing here. i cant even load saved games that I saved after the patch when creating a new game!
save game issues are really frustrating. Good catch to mention this right away.
You can try using System Restore and hope that the install folder was backed up, I'm checking if I can load back to the previous version and finish my saved game.
Needs to be better quality control from Stardock before they release patches. Extremely irritated with this bug.
I experienced the same, but I think this might be intentional, because many statistics changed dramatically. I just finished the first chpter befor patching. When I realized my old saves are useless, I deleted them and started over again. The first chapter played rather differently in terms of experiencing, unit speeds, item costs etc.
Aaargh, WTF! How about a warning at the top of the update? What are you guys doing? I'm trying my best to love this game and after the crashes and now this, I'm having a hard time mustering up the time to commit to it. It's clearly a conscious decision so it's not like you wouldn't have known.
A message posted at the top of the elemental chat room (/join #elemental) states that the patch does not support any previous edition's (prior to v1.06) saves.
I don't understand why this isn't in the patch notes or a why there isn't a warning pop up telling you before you update that updating will break your old saves.
Yeah, I was downloading the new patch when I read this--I put that baby on hold until I finish my current game. I agree that Stardock should put a warning on any update that invalidates saved games ("info at the source is the wisest course"). Would save so many customer service issues.
Anyway, thanks for the warning, Flow.
