It's either in the cd case or with the manual.  Apparently different releases of the game have it in different locations (mine is the case, but apparently for most people it's in the manual).

If you bought the digital version, open impulse and right click on the game and select the "view registration" option, and this will tell you your cd-key.

If you bought the game used... sorry to say this, but there's a huge problem with people returning the game but keeping the cd-key, effectively leaving you out in the cold.

I have a new game and found it in the manual. Kudos!

If anyone else has this problem, and there is no CD key anywhere, give support@stardock.com a shout and we can try to figure something out for you.

Note that you need to first patch your installation of the game to the most recent version of the game or you won't be able to log on.  To do that you need to install Impulse (like Steam) and register your game with it.

Mine is a little white sticker on the inside of my case, just above the spot for the CD.  For those who have their's in the manual, I'm not sure where it's printed but usually it's the inside of the front or back covers.

the cd key on the manual is on the back cover, and it is also a white sticker.

I believe it is also called the 'online reg code'

that's what I used

It will be 6 sets of 5 characters, separated by dashes like this:

XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

They will only use numbers, 0-9, and the letters A-F

How do you enter it? with caps? or not?
End of Torikin's quote

Serial numbers are not case sensitive for Sins, but I like the looks of all caps much better.  ^_^
