Is it worth upgrading to Twilight from DA?

From what I've read on here it almost sounds like TOTA was kind of a step down.  I've read about some kind of crippling tech tree bug and some complaints about the AI, which I never would have imagined.

Is there a definitive list of what's new/better in the Twilight that wasn't there in Avatar?

Would it be better to just wait until GCIII comes out?  Has it even been announced yet?

I'm about where you are Infamous. Having read everything on the forums, looked at the few brief glimpses available on YouTube; it is a hard call to make.

Not upsetting me much since I am stuck in Moo2 at the moment. Moo2 is now available on gog.com for $6 along with Orion 1.

Right now Stardock is concentrating on developing Elemental War of Magic and Brad Wardell is still at work on his book I think. https://www.elementalgame.com/

Somewhere on the forums there is a thread of desired fixes and enhancements for ToTA that is lengthy. When they are going to get time to work on ToTA is unclear. I think GC3 has been talked about, but I don't think a commitment has been made.

It is a perplexing decision, because forum posts tend to concentrate on what is wrong rather than what is right. Leaving me also wondering exactly what I would be getting.

Sins of a Solar Empire forum is sort of quiet these days too. Not sure what Ironclad is working on.
