Upgrading ships...

Without losing all components

Hello all...

 

I haven't played in a year.... Back then it was possible for me to upgrade a ship type without having to start from scratch.  I cannot seem to do that anymore.  Whenever I hit the upgrade button in the shipyard the selected ship is reduced to it´s hull and hull components. I lose everything else.  Can someone help me??

 

Edit:  I have GC II + DA + ToA

It sounds like you might have the Remove Functional Components When Upgrading A Ship Design option enabled (it's the Interface tab under Ship Designer).
