Issues when Applying Mods

0 Checksum

I hope that this is the correct forum...

I have recently downloaded several mods; of them all however, only the Dynamic Battles mod does anything. Every other mod displays a 0 Checksum and fails to have any effect. THe upshot is that the game is unaffected by them in any way so I don't have to deal with minidumps, the downside is that I can't use the mods. I am running a Vista, if that is any help. Does anyone have a solution or ideas on how to fix this issue?

Thanks

Check that your mods are correctly installed, for example that you don't have an extra layer of subfolders or something like that. If you open the folder where your mod is, you should see the standard folder structure like GameInfo, Particles, Textures, etc.

Well, that fixed the 0 Checksum issues, thanks.

However, now when I attempt to apply large mods such as Mad Scientist or Distant Stars, it freezes the game; any suggestions?

Try running in Windowed mode to see if it pops up a minidump error in the background (which would point again to a badly installed mod or a version mismatch). The large mods may take a little while to apply, depending on your PC, so if it's none of those changes are it's just taking a while.

Really shouldn't take over a minute, I would think. I can't imagine a mod taking much longer than that.

I noticed that the Mad Scientist Mod appears to frequently minidump due to the adapted graphical mods in it being out of date with the current version. Do you know if you are getting a minidump, Noble_Lord, because that could be the issue.
