servers are down

yeah it'sb een down for almost two hours. They really don't seem to care, but there isn't as much community thrash as there typically is when the servers go down all too often

i chatted with kryo for a moment.  He sent an email out, but didn't expect anything would happen due to the holiday.  It's 11pm on Christmas eve... while I'd LOVE to get a game in, the holiday is here.  Hopefully someone reacts on Christmas day and recylces the appropriate servers.  Thanks for the extra info, bugger!

I'm around. I've sent out the emails but yea, as you can imagine IT has this evening off. Talk about bad timing. I am sure they'll be back in a few hours.

you can remote into work and fix it... if it's as simple as restarting a server it isn't much. Fact of the matter is that they should always have a person on call: even on XMas. This might be a small company but it's still extremely unprofessional and it is putting off a LOT of players.

Anyone who asked for this game for Xmas or bought it for Xmas is surely regretting it now, let me tell you that.

hey now, i'm one of those who got it for Christmas. the servers being down allows me to get some practice in before noobin' it up and ruining your games online. personally, i'm thankful there's been so much work on this game in general. i was going to buy it this summer but heard the servers were awful. from the few times i have played it online before the crash, it seems great now. the sound+lag problem could use a little work, but hey, nobody's perfect.

Yea, the issue tonight is that the server that manages the games is responding very very slowly.  But not so slowly that it's technically down. So no IT guys are getting paged by the monitor program which is what would normally happen.

Since I'm up playing the game I noticed it immediately and sent emails and text messages but unfortunately, i don't have the info on me for the IT guys directly but only their bosses so once they read it, they'll either fix it themselves or get the IT guys on call to deal with it. 

I'd be shocked if it isn't settled by the morning.

Oh, believe me. I'm not mad that the servers are down: typically they are back in less than 30 minutes, I wasn't stressing out about it. When it hit more than an hour I still wasn't that stressed out since it was Christmas Eve.

When it hit two hours I started to get a little more annoyed and went off to play a different game. Also, kyro saying that the issue may not be resolved until morning got me a little more than bitter.

I'm glad Kryo said anything at all though.  I know sometimes things can be frustrating, but I'd always prefer someone (that doesn't have to) give an honest opinion than say nothing at all.  So, please don't bust his chops.  He was good enough to let me know what was going on and that he'd send an email out.  I appreciated that alot.  And late on Christmas eve to boot.
