because the only thing texture artists were waiting on was someone to make a post with a bunch of exclamation marks.

As a professional artist, the first thing that comes to mind is "what's in it for me"

Usually by defining you want talent or at least interested in it there is often mention of some form of compensation for the induviduals time :P

But yeah, what Swiss said... Bang on correct there.

A good 2D Artist can only work with good 3D Models.

What 3d-Creator do you use? And please post some example Screens from Models like hataks, Deathgliders, Atlantis, BC-304 ect. ect.

Hello,

Firstly, I would like to start of by saying that if you would like to see the progress of our mod, please visit this thread: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/177748

Now that I have that out of the way, The 3D program that I use for the mod is 3DS Max 7.  Riser, our other artist works in Sketchup.  Here are a few shots of our models that need textures.

i wonder if danman is still around he could probably help or know someone who can.

Have fun UV-mapping the last one. ;) Good model, I like the details. Some of those could have been done with the bump-mapping instead of actual geometry though. Keeps the poly count down.

Yes I have head of bumpmapping, and what Im doing is adding in the holes in the piers to show the access to the center open area under the control tower.

Well, you can always treat this as a high-poly model, then bake the normal map onto a low poly model, that's how it's usually done unless you use a sculpting solution. That way you get rid of all the excess polygons and minute detail geometry AND you don't get to spend two years UV mapping every little quad on the high-poly version. And the look remains pretty much the same.

P.S. Not sure what adding holes in piers has to do with bump-mapping, can you elaborate?

I am going to be bumpmapping the city, but Im cutting into the piers to add the details in the mesh.

Ok let me clarify for everyone that this is a non-paying postion. Also for all other modders , and or texture artists out there,  I would be willing to do some coding  work on a trade basis for texture work.   So that being said do you need the expertise of a code monkey and know how to texture but not code????   Lets talk !!!   We will scratch your back if you scratch ours !!!  contact me
