Yes... you did... but don't feel left out! we are all geeks here And you are right, FTL is basicaly faster then light... it could be another term for hyperdrive. Even if the Destiny is older then Atlantis, it's the Anicents we are talking about, the Super powerful race that seeded life in the milkyway in the Stargate series, any of their technology that ACTUALLY worked of course is extremely powerful
Yeah. What I was getting at though is that hyperdrives must have come later in the Ancient's technological development and it makes sense that they are therefore superior. Hyperdrives drop the ship into subspace, whereas Destiny's FTL remains in normal space instead. I'm guessing here, but I would assume the reason to drop into subspace for travel is because it is easier to acheive x10, x20, x50 times the speed of light or whatever there (and/or requires less power) than it is in normal space.
I guess that's what I was getting at when I first replied about not having a phase drive being problematic in the context of the game and for consistency purposes. There is no reason why someone couldn't make the model for Sins and add it though.
