That's awesome, and I'll definately look forward to the assessment of it.  I hope they announce when it'll be released, as well.

Please, please tell us when we can give you more money. :D

yeah, in a galaxy far, far away. if you ever set up sth in Europe I'd certainly consider stopping by, but that's a little far for an expo.

within the phone region, and I had had the conversation buried in my memory due to the many thing that I have to track at many times, one of the curses of being a field computer tech that does not need(and can not have) a filing cabinet to track all of the possible fixes for computer problems, and the customers expect me to be able to solve their problem JUST by looking at the computer at times

From Shacknews:

Stardock has announced that the next expansion to its space strategy title Sins of a Solar Empire, dubbed "Diplomacy," will be released in early 2010.

The expansion is set to "vastly increase the amount of diplomatic options available to players." Beta testing will begin this fall, with a release coming later on in the winter.

its the last one...

http://news.bigdownload.com/2009/09/05/pax-2009-no-more-plans-for-third-sins-of-a-solar-empire-micro-e/

Today at PAX 2009, Stardock CEO Brad Wardell announced that plans for the third micro-expansion for the game have changed. Why? According to Wardell, Ironclad and Stardock have so many things they want add and improve to the game that putting all of them into a third $9.99 downloadable micro-expansion would simply not work. So what does that mean? Will there be a larger commerical expansion to the original game? Perhaps even a full-fledged sequel? Wardell admitted to nothing today but did say that fans of the original game should know that the future of the series is looking good.

Damn teaser! XO

Oh well, back to business :dur:

Was anything specific revealed about Diplomacy?

Blair was around on Friday to show off a little bit. Unlike Entrenchment, there's really nothing visual to show, since it's mostly just the back-end code stuff. The new treaty screen looks good and it should let you see who has what treaties with whom (a pretty requested feature since even back in beta). He didn't say much about what changes pirates would get, but a few of us tossed around some ideas that might show up (spending money to upgrade pirates' ships, stuff like that).

The preorder should've gone up on Friday according to Yarlen, but it looks like it didn't, and they're aiming for the beta this fall. I expect it'll be around the same length as the Entrenchment beta.
