Upgrading Original GC2?

Any upcoming sales for exp bundle?

Hi Guys,

Ages ago I bought GC2 and have never bought any of the expansions (DA, ToA). I just looked on impulse and I can see the GC2 "Expansions Bundle":

http://www.impulsedriven.com/products/ESD-TGN-W263

However I think that price (36 Aussie Dollars) is a bit steep at present: any plans for an impulse sale?

cheers and thanks for a fun game,

I've been wondering about this also. I bought the original when it came out years ago, but I don't have any of the expansions. The expansion bundle seems expensive considering its age, and I've never seen it on sale.

Since there was never any response to this thread, I'll repeat the question.

Any chance of seeing the expansion bundle on sale?

I do hope you guys are joking. Look at the price for just one of the expansions, then look at the bundle price. Add together what it would of cost you if you bought the expansions seperatly! The bundle pack is not expensive at all. You are practically getting the second expansion 80% off.

Old? GalCiv 2 came out in 2006. Dark Avatar came out in 2007, and Twilight of The Arnor came out in 2008.

Hardly old.

Ultimate is on sale, you can get it for close to the same price as the Bundle pack.

No, I'm not joking, but thanks for your opinion. The expansion bundle package is $30 and the whole game "Ultimate" is $40. If it's so inexpensive to you, please feel free to buy it for us.

Hm, how much for just one expansion then?

For me, converted to NOK, the expansions are 120 NOK each, and the Bundle Pack 180 NOK. Now that's a good deal. Ultimate however is 240 NOK.

40 USD is 241,96 NOK, so it seems we have simular prices.

With this in mind, complaining about the bundle pack price seems absurd. It's a good deal.

As for buying for you, I could. I am unemployed at the moment, and even I could afford the game with real low wellfair!

PC games here cost around 400-500 NOK, so even 240 NOK is peanuts in my opinion. But hey, I guess people will always want things cheaper....

Do you work for Stardock? No? Then I'm not talking to you.

I don't appreciate someone telling me how to spend my money, and I doubt you would like some telling you how to spend your money.

I simply asked the company (Stardock), if there was any chance of seeing the expansion bundles on sale? It doesn't seem like an unreasonable question since they have sales on lots of games.

I would be interested in a response from Stardock, not fanboys.

Wow, someone has a real attitude problem. No need to go hostile.

First off you quoted me, so yes, you were engaging a discussion with me. If you really didn't want input from other people then you should of just sent an email to support with your question instead of on a pubilc forum.

Second, I didn't tell you how to spend your money. I just informed it's not a high price, with a very logical example. And if you think about just how many hours of fun you get out of it compared to other things, its dead cheap. We all have the same price.

Would I like someone telling me how to spend my money? Sure, good advice and insite is always appreciated. Which is what I did.

Fanboy? I'm only a fanboy of logical and rational thinking my friend. You seem to be lacking in both.

Well you asked if the expansions worth the money. Don't get angry, if someone says yes! Both expansions are great and worth playing. If you play the basic game, the first and the second datadisc you play quite different games. The AI is different, the technology tree is different, but all games are great.

No, I did not quote you until you replied to my post of a simple question addressed to Stardock.

I did not go hostile. You are the one who stuck their nose in to a question a couple of us posted addressed to the company implying that we're either joking or must be cheap, stupid, greedy, because we asked if a game might be put on sale.

Here's what I posted. There's nothing hostile to it.

I also did not insult you as you insulted me. Now who's the one with the attitude problem?

I like the base game. That's why I'm interested in the expansions.

Sigh, I can tell you must be young due to you overreacting to what is nothing but a kind responce. So I am not going to go farther into this matter after this. I see where this is headed and it's not pretty.

You were rude with your "Then I'm not talking to you" and calling me a "fanboy", which FYI is an insult, so I replied in kind...nothing more. Then getting defensiv when I was just some logical input about the price. But you misstook it as me telling you how to spend your money... Odd how you jumped over that post since it was that one I was refering to as hostile.

But I am done with this, you must be in a very bad mood and thrashing out at people that are just trying to help out. If you can't afford the expansions, then maybe look at some other games?

Anyways, the expansions are great, and add some nice new features. Worth the money IMO.

Nothing ill was intended with my posts, too bad you thought so.

Good luck.

I'm not aware of any plans to put it in upcoming sales, however there is currently a 20% off coupon available for users who have taken our 2009 customer survey.
