A happy dance

18 wins in a row with random teams in custom games

I thought that I should jinx myself by being publically happy about achieving 18 wins in a row in custom games without the benefit of a premade team.

\o/

Though I have to admit that twice I've played a really bad game and kinda should've lost. One time an opponent dropped and we won because of that and another time we just had such an awesome Reg that me dying five frigging times as Sedna didn't doom us.

So mainly I wish to thank all my random team mates! If you've played on the same side as me lately, thank you very much for being awesome. I love you all!

Edit: OK, now it's 22 after five games (one win didn't record for some reason) with the awesome b3nZzZ and other fine peeps - thank you guys, you're the best!

how the hell you managed to get 22 games with a non-premade without getting matched up with a complete noob team-mate who dies 5 times in the first 5 minutes then drops I do not know

Good question... I ve had to explain atleast 3 people what a cap lock was just yesterday, and half the guys would engage a 2v1 even at 500 hp

I have to say that I tend to favour games that say "no noobs" on the title and try to get on the same side as the host. This takes care of most "against pre-mades"-woes plus I like the light side sounds better than dark side. Other than that it's mostly luck. I don't check people's stats before deciding whether to play or not, for example.

A minor thing also, I favour Sedna (though I do play Oak, UB and occasionally Reg as well), which helps in that I can sometimes keep my less experienced team mates from dying. Plus, a team with Sedna is nearly always better than a team without one from a purely DG-choice perspective. At least on my level of skill (not uber-pro, that is).

Sedna needs some serious nerfs.

As an assassain, it is very hard to get a kill on her, because your spell damage gets instantly healed, then you eat a constant chain of 1k pounces, and as soon as you retreat she is back to full hp.

The only advantage I see assassains having over generals is they get to pick extra stats, but they don't do jack all compared to the might of healing minions.

I <3 Sedna for that reason but she's not unbeatable. If you manage to get a stun of too in there, she's dead meat. That 3-5 second stun does a lot, or the cooldown increases! Yesterday I was playing a team that chained boulder roll, erebus stun, and TB's stun! I was....man handled.

The thing is it doesn't even matter if you get a kill or two, later in the game she'll come and whup your ass anyway even if you have better items. Same with rook, I find even if I gank him a lot early game, he STILL turns into a total power machine late game, and I don't stand a chance 1v1, again even with far superior items.

Congrats, and I'm glad to hear that you were able to help teach your allies instead of going off on them.  I think one thing that everyone should make an effort to do is offer *friendly* advice (as much as you're able to, even if frustrated).  All too often I see more rage inspired behavior towards feeding allies and the such, instead of direction.
