Favor Item: Death's Mirror


 

Effect:

Reduces the gold and exp rewarded to those who kill or assit you by 25%

 

Cost:

Favor   -->  500

Effect   -->  Passive

 

 


 

Strategy:

the most obvious and shallow strategy for this item would be for it to given to every "noob" out there so that when they begin to feed the enemy it doesn't break the game right away.  25% reduction means they have get killed 33% more than usal o give the enemy equal gold and exp which is a lot more when u have an ally doing 0-25.

the second and more deep and meaningfull strategy is to allow for other strategies that might involve more "suicidal" tactics in the game.  builds like "tower-diver rook" and "last-hit oak" where the ultimate goal is to take out someone or something while sacrificing themselves.  with an item like Death's Mask these tactics become more useful and cost efficient.

another idea would be for those only intereste din capping flags and pushing lanes but don't want to face other DG's all the time could have this for when they create builds with no offensive abilities, their deaths don't hurt the team as much.

It seems the player it would appeal to would be expierenced and know to not die too often. I like the concept, but I suggest upping the reduction to 60%+. Especially because it is your favor item that game.

I'd say more like 50% off because even if a noob was to get this it would be useless. And it should take 50% off the death penalty too so you have less time dead. This could make it more like 1k favor but would make it a very usefull item for a suicidal oak or a cap locking maniac.

imo this should be every noobs first and only favor item. After 10 games all the other items would be available and this one would disappear.

Interesting idea.  I think favor items should come in all shapes, sizes and flavors, so I am for anything within reason.  This idea indeed sounds neat for "suicidal ...cap locking maniac[s]."

Very novel and great suggestion! 

To expand upon your idea, I think they should really consider altering the Citadel upgrade 'Graveyard' to incorporate 10%/20%/40% less gold and experience rewarded upon player death (could even go so far as to include mob death to counteract the effect of the enemy getting the 'Experience' Citadel upgrade).  This would change the 'Graveyard' skill from being the worst upgrade (right now it rewards the players for dying), to a very lucrative upgrade that helps deny the opponents a substantial advantage upon your teammates deaths.

A mirror combined with this type of upgrade would really help alleviate the 'feeding' problem.

Yes I just played a cataract game and I was regulus. Well I got 10 kills evenly distributed between the 3 opposing players and an oak had 10 kills of ONE TB on my team. We ended up losing because of this massive feed to oak.

No offense to that torchbearer or anything I think it would be a great idea. Most people have their OFF games and then absolutely suck. I know I do.

I had a suggestion a while back that the death penalty upgrade at the citidel should also lower the gold/xp the enemy team gets when they kill you.  I promise you, after that people would FINALLY buy those upgrades. . .

I've seen multiple threads on this and it is a good suggestion. It should be implimented along with this item.

i really like the idea for having the citadel upgrade also reduce gold and exp gain from kills... another idea would be a favor item that counters this as well, something like increasing Exp OR Gold gain by a kill.  this sort of item would have to cost a lot more, somewhere around 1500-1750 favor, with maybe a 20% increase in gold or exp.  obviously having gold and exp would be just OP so i think it would have to be one or the other.  any thoughts?
