Running a combination of v1.05 and v1.15 Vanilla Sins?

I am currently running Vanilla Sins v1.15.

I've heard that it's possible to play Vanilla Sins that contains both versions 1.05 and 1.15.  How can I do that?

The main reason why I'm asking is because I want to use v1.05 mods and v1.15 mods.  Not at the same time, of couse, but so I can switch between them.  For instance, 7DS (v1.05 only) and Celestial Bodies (v1.12+).

I don't think it is possible unless you upgrade to 1.05, copy the program files of Sins to a different name and then update the game to 1.15 and then if you want to run the 1.05, run 1.05 from the 1.05 folder and then if you want to run 1.15 run the updated folder.

I did just that the yesterday, and I am finding there is one major problem. Both the fully upgraded Sins as well as vanilla Sins use the same folder in AppData. As such when you go back and forth it resets the file user.settings. Because of that, it forgets your name, graphics settings and sometimes your achievements. If there is a way of having multiple installs without this problem I'd very much like to know.

Back up the settings in 1.15 and 1.05

and then replace each time you play it

or play 1.17 in one user login  and 1.05 in a different user login (to windows)
