Havana WB - WIP

Havana WB - WIP

Pour the perfect blend.

Sydneysiders came up with the name.... and I have to think... it totally beats the crap out of 'Macaccino Mint'

Anyway, this is the WB I'm currently working on, always wanted to make a coffee colored blind, finally getting around to it.

Will try to make it very smooth and useable, perhaps even relaxing to use and post screens as I go.

Mac inspired. Nothing is in stone so far.

:)

maybe a shade less height...inside the start button? or place it diagonally to the left....i know your pref for small start buttons.

but with the combo of coffee/mint/tea - not sure if 'havana' works...

no other 'havana' here

I checked...

I chose Havana for a brown blind...because it evoked the rich brown of a havana cigar....then it took a minty turn....but Havana coffee, while not as much of a household name...I think is still applicable...anyway...just sounds nice...   :)

I wouldn't mind trying a sprig of mint...or maybe just two leaves..one slightly smaller...both slightly offset....a little less stark...just an idea..

because it invoked the rich brown of a havana cigar..

hence my idea of a cigar butt - i was thinking of a smoking havana

which goes good with coffee... O:)

invoked

X-( didn't change it to 'evoked' fast enough...    ;P

don't think we should be promulgating tobacco abuse in any way.

kind of hypocritical to have a skin with a cigar on the desktop while talking to patients about smoking cessation......

sorry to be a wet blanket.

I really like the idea...

That does suit it well!  :star:

who ever said 'we' were ?

not blaming, v. not at all. perceptions. besides...it's a moot point, as it isn't going that way...

Havana cats are brown with green eyes.

This is obviously a portent.

If we want be pedantic, coffe mint and thea are not properly rappresentatives of havana, the coffe is arabic, tea is chinese and mint has origin european, these are only colors for an original and wonderful skin!

X-(

It's just a nice name...representing the colour brown.....this blind is gonna have about as much likelihood of promoting/condoning smoking.....as the community wall promoting/condoning graffiti.....  ;)

syd...the comment wasn't about the color, but rather comment#5 and#28 and since the skin doesn't appear to be going in the direction of having a havana cigar in the start button, the point is moot....I use my computer at work and frequently patients ask about "The different desktop"...I just didn't want to have to explain a cigar...that's all. No biggie.

as a customer, i wanted my preferences known, and the reason for them.

btw...why do i have a sudden urge to grab a can of spray paint? ;)

Peas.

Yep, and cuban coffee is some of the best imo... hence...the name Havana :)

The blind basically is a bit of a tribute to all the graphic designers and coders that sustain themselves, as I do with a pot of java and gritty determination.

I chose to add in the mint color as mint is a type of coffee, one of my favs, and honestly I think its probably the best color match with the brown used.

I may.. also do an orange pumpkin spice substyle to add a bit of variety, havent decided yet.

Thanks all, hope everyone had a nice 4th. :D

Thought I'd drop in to say this looks really nice, reminds me of Jawndo (which I liked) but this one is sleeker and more minimalistic. Looking good John (and I don't even drink coffee).

I'm experiencing a Pavlovian reaction to this WIP -- just looking at it is making my heart race, and I'm getting revved up.  These are behaviors that should only happen after I actually consume caffeine!   :w00t:

It's another beautiful skin.  :)
