What is the scale of Demigods compared to Humans?

If you take a look at Rook, which looks to be a Moving living Fort, housing a brigade of soldiers manning light towers, bows/crossbows, and trebuchets. And you consider that its two towers on its shoulders are wings of a multi-level Fort. Then, the size of a Human being, next to Rook, is like an Ant (insect) crawling on a 7 foot Bear. Now, if you size up the other Demigods to Rook; they’re more like in size to Wolves (again Humans are like Ants!). So, who in there right mind would sign up to man Rook’s shoulder Forts as an Archer when the spray of arrows showering towards the enemy, put in a scale perspective,  are so minute that a Demigod wouldn’t even flinch!!! In other words, I suck at using Rook and these thoughts cross my mind when I’m being OWNED!!!

I think the scale can't be 100% accurate, rook would be way too big and the regular "soldiers" which i guess are humans, would be so small that you couldn't see them^^

The regular soldiers are minotaurs, and other mythological creatures, but no humans are involved.

Mmm, considering that it's all in magical planes of existance, could they not be tiny little minotaurs and such with massive bows and arrows? Or just extremely strong? This is a world of gods, who can stop and change the world with ease. Who's to say the arrows are insignificant, then slowly grow in size?

I have yet to see a RTS game with sensible scale. In some games the players character is even bigger than the town hall/citadel/fort/etc

The only strategy game which scales right regarding tanks, men, buildings etc. i know of is "Act of War" ! the expansion even included ships in realistic scale ! Awesome !

I think this is it, yeah, but it's still funny to think about.

Maybe the Demigods are the ants and humans are giants.  The Demigods battle on their puny battlefields, but whomever emerges victories becomes the supreme ruler.  All humans bow to the ant!

To think about it, we never 'see' our gods.  Maybe its because they are so damn small!

Just think, those ants outside in the grass could be playing a round on Cataract.

If Demigods are really that big, just imagine how big QoT's boobs are! Crikey!

Well, in their backstory, just about all of them were human during their mortal life. You know, before some crazy tragic thing happened to them that somehow made them become superhuman? lol

I don't think the game designers cared too much about being realistic with sizes and physics and stuff :P

I'm pretty sure there was a day where they all sat down and said. "hey what are we gonna do about the sizes and way armor fits on"...."heck Idk lets just say that they are in an alternate magical plane of existence so nobody can bother us about physics or anything".

It woulda let em focus more on gameplay and balance.

game isn't quite on the same scale for all DGs. my interpretations based on the fluff and the in-game graphics.

Torchbearer - size of a tall human male, floats about 10 feet off the ground in fire mode

Regulus - slightly larger than a human, 7-8 foot tall and fit. would have a wing span of about 20 feet if he still had wings.

Unclean Beast - about the size of an extra large Rhinoceros or other large land mammal. he kinda looks like an inside-out cross between a gorilla and a wolf, but would stand about 10-12 feet tall at the shoulder.

Rook - fuckin gigantic. gotta be 50 feet tall or more. i tend to imagine him being about the size of a smallish apartment building (like 6-8 stories tall).

Erebus - similar size to Regulus, just slightly larger than a human. floats about 2-3 feet above the ground.

Sedna - the girl is normal human size (about 5'4" for most women) but her tiger Seela is gigantic, probably 6 foot high at the shoulders. Sedna's head is probably about 8 or 9 feet off the ground on Seela's back.

Queen of Thorns - the queen herself is a bit smaller than a human, but much larger than most faeries. going with about 5 feet tall. the beetles+flower chariot she rides is fairly large, like the size of a car or something. so imagine a girl standing up on the back seat of  a convertible, about that size.

Oak - Oak used to be a normal person and all that's left now is his armor. i see 2 ways to interpret this. 1) its literally the armor the man used to wear so its man-sized. or 2) the armor has been re-forged (alluded to by Oak who often says "anvils sing, armor forged, i am reborn") and is now substantially larger than a normal human as befits his immense spiritual stature. i'd say he could easily be 10-12 feet tall re-forged as a giant suit of armor. personally i favor version 2)

No, they were born Demigods already, but their powers flourished as they matured. Remember, they were spawns of a god and human. All of them were born under weird circumstances. So there is no reason to believe they were "human-sized" to begin with.

It's also acceptable to see that minotaurs are larger than the humans supposedly manning the archer towers. Of course, we're just told they're "Sons of Belrond," not "humans". The Vlemish, Plenor, and Belrond could a smaller-than-human (although makes you wonder how DGs could wear a Vlemish Faceguard or Plenor Battlecrown..maybe they don't actually wear the gear and just keep them in their pockets).

1700 gold for a trinket I could get from a tourist trap? What kind of racket is that item shop running?

:fox:

Probably cuz it has a monopoly on the items it sells.

Is there even anyone running the shop, or it is just some kind of godly vending machine?

The Allfather was forced to run the shop after having his god status stripped away. Think of it like going from being President of the world to a cashier at McDonalds.

if it was a 100% acurate rook could fall over and  crush all the soldiers   rook has a new ability  fall on his ass

Well, I can understand Demigod’s are scalable just like the Blue naked guy from the Watchman (Can change size at will). They are not ex-Gods, since they have human emotions and reactions (jealousy, fear, love, etc.). But their being must abide to universal physics. Gravity affects them all, hence some are slow and others fast (Rook is so, freaking slow!).  So, based on their physical attributes, you can determine the size and scale. Rook, is obviously several stories high and probably weighs several hundred thousand tons, if you include the brigade of Minotaur manning its defenses. Last time I checked, a Minotaur is the size of a Budweiser Beer horse and a Dwayne Johnson (the Rock) torso. That’s heavy and gay looking! Anyway, if you take the Rook as the basis of comparison for all other Demigods, than humans are the size of “Ants”.

That is the (classical) definition of a demigod. Modern times kind of stretch that definition a bit to mortals becoming part god or just very powerful mortals, but his post was correct.

Read the story in the instruction manual.

the vacancy in the pantheon is from the progenitor god, who by definition of name was a bit of a slut.

The "All Father," lol! Not so much a slut but more of a player. His position is the one all the demigods are fighting for.

LOL godly vending machine! I like that. *Conjures image of demigod shaking the Item Shop because it just ate 1750 gold*
