New demigods for download?

I check the forums pretty regular and haven't seen any recent mention of a timeframe for the release of the new playable demigods.  Anybody read something I haven't?  Just curious, I know they've been working on connectivity issues but I'd heard it mentioned before and haven't seen anything recent.  I also haven't read anything about any new maps at all which is something I find this game sorely lacking.  Don't get me wrong, the ones available are beautiful and well thought out but they can get a little repetitive.

No, I don't believe they've given any time estimate. There is supposed to be a free DLC thinger later this summer, perhaps the Demigods will come with it.

Before the release, i am pretty sure i read that the 2 first new demigods would be added in the 2 monthes following the release. But there haven't been an ETB since then.

I don't think any new demigods are coming out soon ... they are still working on getting people to play the game first.

There are bigger problems than new Demigods...

Didn't see this post. But yeah what he said.

I know connection issues come first but I was just wondering since they seem to be starting to focus on other games, issues, etc. what kind of timetable we were looking at.  What about maps any news there?

jeez, do you really think that the same peoples fix the netcode and creates new demigods?

From what I can tell it's all hands on deck for the netcode piece...so that would potentially preclude people from continuing work on new content.  That said, even if they were done releasing additional content during a time when people are ticked about networking issues would send the wrong message.  So...assuming the additional content is done, which is a possibility, it won't be seeing the light of day until at least some measurable progress has been made on the netcode issues.

Wait for Stardock to give a time estimate, then take the time (in days) between the present and the estimated date, multiply by two and add 5-20% of the estimated time to the total.  That is when they will be released.

interesting, and maybe the way gpg thinks. I imagine that the content must be done now, those demigods have not been made from scrap after the release, there were already traces of one of them in the first beta. But i don't know how many people they have working on additional content for demigod, after all they are also working on supcom 2.

@tiduz: you know you are a fat, ugly troll, right?

The rules of releases:

If a release is announced for any month, expect it to be the last working day of that month, or the first working day of the next month.

Releases don't come out on a Friday ( nobody wants to work Saturday to fix something)

Releases don't come out on a Monday ( invariably somebody found something wrong or remembered something over the weekend)

----------

There are many more rules, but they don't apply here.

(p.s. I've a dev with 15+ years experience)

Um no ... but regardless it needs to be done.

Jeez, do you really think that GPG reads these forums? Even frogboy said its perty rare that they do ... coulda swore this was stardock forums.

Thx

I do believe that is incorrect.  Regardless, the netcode is mostly Stardock and RakNet.   Demigods are GPG.

New demigods are supposed to be in v1.1, not v1.01.  I don't see how it'll be a DLC, as that implies an optional download.  Due to the game engine being P2P, all machines would have to "know" about the new demigods, regardless.

However, even though demigods are GPG, they probably have been busy with the improvements for v1.01, which I hope will be available today. :)

In fact he said the exact opposite. GPG reads, they're just focusing on the game while we do the talking.
