Buying a PSP - Need some help picking games

Hey all,

Heading out for a 2 week vacation in July, and I've decided to buy a PSP for the hours I'll likely be standing around waiting for the GF to finish her shopping - and the airport waiting. Would appreciate any help you all can give picking out some good games. I've already ordered the 2 GTA titles.

Does anyone know of any good strategy games for the psp?

I don't have them but you may want to check out Field Commander or R-Type Command Both are turn based and IGN rated them high. (Heck I might have to give them a look since Sins has turned me on to strategy games)

If you liked the Full Spectrum Warrior series on the PC you might want to give SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike a look. It plays much like it. I have that one.

Metal Gear Acid (Ac!d) and Acid2 are cool hybrid action/card based games (it's weird, but check it out)

Try Syphon filter- Logan's Shadow.

It's on the edge of strategy, but I loved Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions.

Two must-play PSP games:

Twisted Metal : Head-On

Riviera: The Promised Land

Metal Gear Ac!d 2: It's colorful fun and a great turn based game perfectly suited for the psp

Hotshot's Golf: Arcady golf, addictive.

Metal Slug Anthology: 6 Metal Slug games. Awesomeness.

Castlevaina: Not only a great reworking of a lesser known castlevaina game, but it has Symphony of the Night as an unlockable!

Locoroco and Patapon are fun (GF will enjoy Locoroco) but there are much better games out there.

Metal Gear Portable Ops is tempting but very slow and repetitive (pass on it) and Metal Gear Portable Ops+ is a MULTIPLAYER ONLY bore.

If youre only getting one, Metal Slug Anthology is addictive and very replayable, fast paced action, and a great value.
