Game for New players

I recently bought Sins and im loving it. after playing around with a few bots I decided to jump online only to discover the players wern't "neub friendly" Naturly I got my faced handed to me. The people were kind enough I was just WAY out of their league. So then I got the idea to host a game for new players that wanna have fun and learn the game.

Im hoping for atleast a few people that are intrested. More experianced players are welcome but they must be willing to help out rather than completly anhilate everybody.

So if you or someone you know are intrested just post a comment or two and i'll try to get a game together for everyone intrested. I dont know if this a good idea so im just playing it by ear at this point but hopefully this can become a regular thing but it all matters on participation.

Try doing a comp stomp online. This will let you get your feet wet and understand the play of multi without getting face-palmed.

One benefit of playing against the good players is that you can watch replays of the game and watch what they do afterwards, which might be a good way to improve your skill by reverse-engineering their strategies.

Anyway, it's hard to break into the online multiplayer game now-a-days though there are still new players out there.  I applaud you for coming online.  You just have to take your noobie lumps and be patient and take pleasure in your continued improvement and competitiveness.

In team games you need to keep in mind that even though you personally might get beat up on, your team might be winning and you need to try to do whatever you can to help your TEAM.  Sadly, many people don't understand that and sometimes cost their teams the game by quitting or surrendering before it's been decided.  So you have to ask yourself, "what can I do to help my team?"  I remember an early game I played where I stated out sandwiched between opponents in a 4v4 and all I had was a Vasari Evacuator mothership cap.  I moved it across the map, colonized, and then later used my capital ships to help bomb opponents.  It was great fun and my team won it in an epic game.

Just one note.  You might find more new playes in regular Sins than Entrenchment.

So true.

I played a 4v5 game the other day - my clan vs 5 others. One guy quit and if you look at the replay, he wasn't being hit as badly as others were. Cue domino effect and less then 5 minutes later the game was over... If he had stayed in, they could have been competitve as they had a 2v1 going somewhere on the map - my guy and I were holding in a stalemate of sorts, so it was on the other side of the map...

In another game I lost all my planets and just managed to get an egg out - at the end of the game I was #1 or #2 for econ, research, culture and overall fleet - I was about #3 in fleet supply... Sure I got a huge amount of feed from my allies, but I stayed in and was able to use my lvl6 egg on the other team's feeder

Moral of the story - stay in the game as long as you can do stuff - colonise, bomb, feed etc...
