Does anyone know if in fact somebody is actually working on GalCiv3? Or is it like Civ5, something everybody is talking about but nothing else happens. 
Afaik the plan was to develop Elemental first before starting work on Galciv3. So, nobody is working on Galciv 3 (yet).
Well, it would be rather soon to already start working on another GalCiv release... Look at how some other companies are flooding the market with a new release of a certain series almost every year, causing people to feel "saturated" with that type of games. Then I prefer a company that takes its time to come up with a release that brings enough novelty value and improvement to really count as a stand-alone release 
why not just continue to expand the original? CCP do it with eve online and it works a treat
GC2 has some significant technical issues, making starting over with GC3 easier and cleaner, not to mention it is slated to use the same game engine as elemental, rather than the current one. My guess is that we will be seeing GC3 enter beta the first half of 2011.
TA is barly 12 months old! 
I'm surprised that you would expect GC3 to already be in development.
It is far too soon to expect SD to be even thinking about GC3, IF, they are going to make one. We all should know how things can turn about face in the gaming industry and that nothing is for certain....cough Society...cough.
Expecting SD to be working on GC3 already is far too high of an expectation, knowing how big of an effort there is still to be put into Elemental.
If....if, we see a GC3 (at least in SP TBS form) i would not expect it before 2012 and i would not expect to hear anything about it till the end of next year.
Even your 2011 beta seems early to me Willy....though it could be that early i guess, depending on Elemental and/or other titles that SD publish in the meantime. (look at the work Demigod has needed from SD)
I concur. I strongly doubt we'll even see a beta for GalCiv3 til 2012 at the earliest, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the game itself wasn't released til 2013.
Perhaps matters will accelerate if/when Stardock is able to get their second development team up and running. However, as I get the impression it's going to be a while before even that happens, I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Between now and then, we'll just have to cope playing GalCiv2 and Elemental. I think we'll live.
Given the success of the Sd'd more recent titles, be it in-house or just as publisher, i really would not be surpeised to see GC3 take a different direction, even if slightly.
Both SINS and Demigod have seen huge success with both having MP, and mroe than but the MP is a big feature, if not the whole core of the game.
Even though i am a huge fan and promoter of the Metaverse i could see it making way for what would make a far more profitable MP system, though being TBS could stress that feature.
I can just see Brad and co now looking at and comparing SINS sales and DG sales to GC2 and thinking "damn i want to get those numbers for a game we make...ohh look GC3 is on the horizon.)
Be it the MP route they go down or the RTS route even, i'll be interested but i wont even think about looking for journals for at least 2 more years.
Throw Demigod into that mix. Though, who is to know what new big title is just around the corner that SD might be publishing.
Give Elemental a chance. The way it's going it will be a very good game.
I love GC2 but I really am a fantasy fan first. However I can't wait to see if they will indeed do a GC3. It will be great.
I'm extremely looking forward to Elemental, where did i indicate otherwise?
I was just adding Demigod to the fro since i am not playing GC2 atm, but am engrossed in Demigod which will more than satisfy my needs till Elemental, along with The Settlers: Rise of an Empire and L4D.
Can I have a very critical feature?
Attack move command like in other RTS or somehow?
and I wish to have a better graphic in GC3.
I got a question what are the difference between
ultimate edition (which is the one I currently have)
and endless universe ?
The first contains DL, DA, and TA. The second only has DA and TA.
