Firing multiple kostura

and mapping them

Mapping several kostura to given key is simple, but I can't figure out how to get them to all fire at the same time.  Ideas?  Has someone accomplished this?

no, i think just like ship abilities you have to tab + click through them

Err.. why would you want to fire them at the same time?

depending on the distance to target, you could ripple fire them and keep the effect lasting longer?

thats the only reason i can think of

You could fire multiple shots in an effort to make the effect last longer, but that goal would best be served by Not fireing them all at once.

I am pretty sure the Kostura cannon does a moderate amount of damage, so if you fired like 10 shots at once you might be able to kill everything in oribt.

Yeah, even when I run through them as fast as I can, it is rare that they all hit at once because each cannon has to turn and they're all at different distances.  And yeah, I think it's the fourth one that kills the extractors, by six I don't remember seeing logistics structures at all, around 10 upgraded starbases don't have shields and are hanging out all by themselves.

The strategy I'm working on here is to mass fire them deep into the enemy territory and chase it with the main fleet.  Blow the planet to hell, while a lone canon is opening a phase gate on the opposite side of the enemy fleet.  Rinse and repeat.  The strategy relies heavily on not losing ships to planetary defenses, though, but I can run through the ice/volcanic planets faster than the enemy can reclaim them.  I want to be able to do that on terran/desert planets, too.

just a bit of a tangent question here:

kostura's give the effect of opening a phase stabiliser where the blast hits, correct? does that mean you can travel to the planet of impact from any GW with a phase stabiliser, or only from the GW of the kostura that fired the blast?

You can travel to it from any planet with a phase gate or a starbase with the upgrade (activated at the right time)

Or even from the node opened by your antorak. :)

Just FYI, it takes 14 shots to kill HCs, and 16 shots to kill carriers.  These figures are for late game fleets with full armor and HP upgrades.

Which race?

Doesn't really matter, but those figures were for TEC.  And yes, I found this out by doing it to a guy.  The guy probably never even heard of the Kostura cannon before.  After his fleet died, he said, "WTF is that?"

Kostura gate - to - Kostura gate might be fun if possible, but the timing would have to be pretty good.

(Note to devs:  It would be useful to have a 'synchronize orders' toggle, so that you

(1) enter this mode,

(2) give orders to multiple units / facilities

(3) end the mode,

(4) watch as the orders start executing in the fastest possible timing such that they take effect at the same time

This does not seem too complicated for a society capable of running an interstellar empire and micromanaging fleet battles at arbitrary distances.)
