Why are there no mods for 1.05?

I use vanilla sins 1.05 and I cant find any good mods except 7DS. I love 7DS and thats what keeps me from upgrading but I want to add to it with other mods to get more content (and dont go telling me its ilegal because its just my personal copy, i wont be distributing it.) Im pretty much useless at moding so I cant make it myself and Ive been working on reverse compatibility but havent got anywhere. So what now?

Edit:  "(and dont go telling me its ilegal because its just my personal copy, i wont be distributing it.)"

I didnt relize how accusing that made me sound!^_^ Ive had it happen before so...

Because 1.05 is been outdate for a long time. And the files and the way Sins read the files have changed totally...so people naturally updated the mods to keep up with the versions released

I think it's a general consensus that you can mod however you want on your own system. ;)

If I were you, I would get entrenchment, maybe nab an Entrenchment-compatible mod and give the new gameplay mechanics a try.

You could patch over some elements of 7 Deadly Sins pretty easily. For isntance you could keep the neutral spawns by merging the GalaxyScenarioDef file, taking care to eliminate non-stock spawns.

Actually, the Halo Mod I'm working on is only for 1.05, and it's really annoying because I can't get 1.05 and 1.16 (or is it 1.17 now) working on seperate copies.

No, it's not out yet. I'm talking about the team alpha.

Its pretty easy to have two seperate copies of 1.05 and 1.16(1.17) simply click on my computer then C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire for Windows XP (NOT VISTA, i'm affraid i don't know the file path for Vista) and then copy the 'Sins of a Solar Empire' folder. You can then paste it anywhere you want, i have it on my desktop. Then feel free to update your version. Your orginal shortcut for Sins of a Solar Empire will be for the updated version. To play v1.05 click on the file with the copied v(1.05) scroll down and you should see 'Sins of a Solar Empire.exe'. Click on this to play v1.05. Hope this helps. Long live SOASE!!!

I know, I tried everything. Once I upgrade one copy, the other one won't work. I even tried putting it on a flash drive, to no avail.

Wait! your making a Halo mod for 1.05? Thats going to be awsome! And I tried to make a seperate sins file for 1.16 but I have the same problem as Juggernaut.

Did you see the file 'Sins of a Solar Empire.exe' in the v1.05 file? This is wot you click on the play soase v1.05. If you don't see it then copy it from the v1.16. You make a seperate foler for the Sins v1.05. The Sin v1.16 will take the place of where your orginal v1.05 was.

You have not try everything... Try PlayOnLinux ... these little piece of software use wine... but each install use it own prefix with own registry... so, your game grow from around 50 mb on the hard drive... the funny thing is that with sins in windowed mode, you can run 1.05 in the SAME time that 1.16 in a other windows and Entrenchment in one more windows...

Since a few month, problem with online game was resolved... you only need windows use impulse for the upgrade but the guy are working on it... problem is the BITS part... no sure that the old stardock central ( sdc.stardock.com/sdcentral_setup.exe ) is always functional for the last upgrade but it was working perfectly on Linux...

So, in short, wrote "I tried everything with windows OS" :p
