Piddly Warpstone Range?

So I recently bought the warpstone for the first time.  I expected to be able to warp anywhere on the map, or at least to friendly buildlings.  But it turns out the thing has a range of like 10 feet.  It's not even instacast, and it has a superlong cooldown.  This is what's worth 5000gold?

The only thing it's useful for is a twitch response when I'm in a jam that MIGHT buy me an extra couple of seconds to get out safely.  A combat health potion for 350 gold does the same thing, or a potion from the Artifact shop for 1000 will get me right back in the fight.

 

I don't get it.  Am I misusing it?  Is it bugged?  This just seems stupid.

Yeah, it's not as useful as it probably once was. If anything, for the price it should be like the blink dagger in DoTA. Honestly though, I don't mind the cooldown or casting time but the range is terrible. You could walk the same distance in the time it took you to charge the warpstone up.

Ya the range is really bullshit. I think for the cast time and price the range should be quite a lot. I bought it for torchbearer thinking I can blink and start Frost Nova, Switch to fire and Fire Nova but I found myself not far from where I was standing.

Keep it the same range then and give it a .5 cast time. At least it would be more useful.

It was real good before.  It's not exactly useless now.  Would take more games to tell though. *shrugs*

It certainly is sort of likea buff to Erebus though as now his bats are much much better in comparison.

Lol.  I bought it too, and was surprised at how unuseful it was.  I doubt anyone will ever use it unless it gets a buff.

I hear you abou the wand of speed, you could probably go further in the same time it took the warpstone to activate too, heh. At any rate, I'm sure it will get changed in some fashion eventually.
