first problem you need all of the files from the rar in the same folder as galaxy forge.exe. several people have had to install dotnet 3.5 before galaxy forge would run.

second question to alter the starting credits/metal/crystal for each player you click on the edit menu then on the players then you click on the player you want to alter and alter the values to your needs.

that requires a 3d designing tool. I believe that the developers use xsi for the creation of models, and that some of the modelers use some other tools, but I do not know that area yet. I suggest posting a query in the 'ask danman' thread.
