Whoa... total buzzkill

So after hearing about the bad AI me and my friend thought we could do a deathmatch round of me, him and two nightmare AIs against four nightmare AIs. The game was set to end after 25 kills, we made it to 24 before the enemies started to dominate, they got from just over 15 kills and caught up with us at 24 before finally beating us two minutes late infront of our citadel. Are we just horrible newbies, or are you other guys just teh pwnzorz and can really beat the AI? At one point I had the enemy Oak attacking me infront of my green crystal, and the Crystal could barely keep up with the damage he was outputting. Seeing him run around so quickly, regen HP like wolverine and swing his axe around like a cat swatting a RC car frightened me.

Also, is there something that can be purchased right at the start of the round (with high gold) that silences enemies? Me and my buddy were looking but couldn't find anything, though we may have missed it. The reason I ask is that it seemed like we were getting silenced every 20 seconds, and something that does that would obviously be a huge advantage to us against real players.

Another question, when enemies start dominating like that... how are the generals? I can't imagine my minions making much of a difference against someone who seems invulnerable.

EDIT: Thought I might as well add that despite the loss, and unkillable enemies in my last round, I'm really enjoying the game. I know I'll never be one of the extreemely skilled players, but it's a awesome game. I just hope I don't run into too many experts online =P

AI seems to have gotten a bit better since the Beta. That, and I believe higher levels get extra gold and stuff.

The nightmare AI gets huge bonuses to its stats (I believe XP earned, HP regen, damage dealt, gold spent among others).  It can be really terrifying, especially if you don't have anything comparable on your side -- after playing some single-player games, I'm pretty sure the "hard" levels gives you Easy AIs on your team and Nightmare AIs on the enemy team.  8O

But I'm not sure that's what happened to you, especially if you were able to get ahead in kills.  From what you described, it sounds like either they got way ahead of you in levels or they spent their money better than you (maybe you had spent a lot of money on normal items and they saved up for an artifact?)

Yeah in pantheon "hard" mode im pretty sure you get downs kid AI and the other side AI is like epic. I've spent like the last 5 pantheon matches doing all the objectives myself. Anytime it's a slaughter map I just give up and lose since my team is going to suicide pretty fast.

Everyone gts a bit of a shock when they first face hard / nightmare. You may just need to get some more experience on what to buy and what to level up. Also they get a 15%/30% bonus so it's natural for them to be stronger then you.
