Another question

Ok, I did a small galaxy and got the basic hang of it. I was the Altarians and the other civilization was the Terrans.

 

One thing I'm wondering is how do you guys and gals keep on top of all your planetary projects in the larger galaxies? I looked and did not see any option to let the governors choose their own projects.

 

And for an Ascension(That was a great DOS game by the way!) resource, is that picked up by a miner ship like an asteroid?

No, you build a starbase on it with a constructor.

TA has planetary governors for buildings, but they could work better than they do and I personally don't use them often enough to have an opinion either way.

I don't find it to be that difficult, but I will admit to skipping several tiers of buildings here and there.

Have you tried the all colonies spreadsheet screen?

It shows each colony, if it has at least one ship in orbit, how many total tiles and how many built upon or building and how many empty, what improvement is under construction and also what ship design.  Additionally, it shows the mil prod, the build prod, and the res prod, and which one (if any) has been tpggled for focus.

From that screen, one can build an improvement and/or a ship, and designate/change focus.

I always work from that screen once I have ~5 colonies or so.
