Begging for a change

I don't make a habit of asking game developers for stuff. I'm an easy-going guy, very casual gamer. But I am now going to ask for somthing, and ireally hope that somone hears me.

Please, please, for the love of all that is holy, make the empire tree stop trying to help me. I don't want it jumping around, trying to hep me find things, i don't want it auto-scroling to where it thinks I'm going, I don't want it to move at all, except when I double-click a ship or planet. Then it can pull my target up.

When I'm trying to manage a fleet, I want to manage the fleet, not every ship in that system. When I'm scrolling through planets, making sure I've upraded everything, I don't want to open every system when I click on it. If I wanted to expand the tree, I would have expanded it myself.

If there is an option in game to do this, I haven't noticed it.

Ya, it annoys me very much but usually I just put everything on pause and they do all the changes I want to make and then unpause, it really cuts down on the frustrations

AGREED this does get very frustrating.

Absolutely, probably the most annoying thing about SINS is the way the empire tree keeps jumping so I'm constantly missing my target when I click on it.

Yes. This jumping makes me completely ignore the Empire tree. I don't need it, and it's cumbersome when it keeps flipping about like that. Seriously. At least have an option to remove it (which would be insulting the devs... so hows about a fix?)

Put in a second column beside the first. Put ships jumping in phase at the botton and put fleets at the top. Plenty of room for both.

This way you never have to scroll up to find your fleets and ships in phase/joining or leaving fleets will no longer cause the empire tree to jerk around.

i personally dont use it that much, i dont have to, and the jumping around and jerking away from my mouse click is preventing me from attempting to start to use it.

i would definitly like a fix, or a option to remove it, or not, like i said, i hardly use it, just to keep track of my fleets, make sure they are fully reinforced etc, keep track of my factory planet (i.e. where i build all my ships), and maybe any chokepoint planets or artifact planets, otherwise, i really think the empire tree has far too much information that... i really dont think you need all at once... especially which ships are in phase space, if it only tells you they are in phase space, and not where they are moving to etc

How do you pause?

How do you pause?
End of quote

With the Pause/Break button.  Up there on the right by the Scroll Lock & PrtScrn (Print Screen) buttons.

I wonder if the ` button to "unpin" all (and then just repin what u need), would stop the empire tree from jumping all around?

I learn something new about this game every day :) I don't see the 'pause' command in the key bindings though...

Well, in some keyboards, like my laptop's one, there is no pause button and Sins don't recognize Print screen, maybe because it is not an american keyboard. So go to the options and change the command key for pause from the fictionnal pause button to a letter like P.

I'd add a vote to this request. When I'm towards the bottom or top of the tree, the unit, fleet, row that I'm hovering has a bad habit of jumping up or down. This happens when things are being added to the top (phase-jump, more planets, etc.)....

Very annoying. It's the worst when I'm trying to micro my fleet w/ a couple of targets, and they list moves on the 5th target, ruining the list. ::sigh::

Unlike some of the posters here, I quite like the empire tree. As long as my empire is small enough that the tree is still, it is the best empire-management mechenism I've ever used.

Really hope the devs can fix this.

Tamren,

Tam- your solution sounds great!   but, erm...How do you do that?
