Forum Update - April 2, 2009

Minor update, but important

from WinCustomize Forums

The forums have been updated again today with a minor change.  If a user edits his/her post, there will now be a "View Edits" button.  Clicking this button will show a history of that reply/post, along with highlights (red = removed text, green = added text).

If you do not see the button or clicking the button does nothing, please do a "hard refresh" by holding Ctrl and pressing F5.  This will clear your cache and force a download of the new image and javascript file.

Hopefully this will reduce the amount of griefers who go back and edit all of their posts.

Hey, I kinda like seeing my typo's when I don't cathc them while typing....lol. I feel like an I am in an elite group or something. Specially since Jafo doesn' t do corrections anymore.... :grin: :rofl:

I have my Empire Thread set up the way I like it. Please check to see if you can post in it.

I am done editing until I move up in rank which will be a long time.

The problem is no one can post in my thread ever since the veiw edits was added and the other problem is no one can open my empire thread to veiw edit.

Not being able to view edits means it's taking a while to load them all.  However, view edits should not affect posting.  I recently updated the view edits to make it AJAX-based.  Do a hard refresh (press Ctrl and F5) on that page and see if you can post then.

A URL is the address of a website.  "https://forums.wincustomize.com" is the URL for teh Wincustomize forums.

I've wondered about those extra buttons, the thumbd up and the report now the view edits. I guess I'm lucky. Mine don't have them lolXD

You can't report or give karma to your own posts, and the view edits button isn't there because you haven't edited the post.

I did not have a problem replying to that thread.  I was unable to load the view edits, however.  I will look into that issue and see what's holding it up.
