War Rank

what is it exactly?

The one aspect of this game that still has me scratching my head is the so-called war rank in this game.  How exactly does it work?  In other words, how do you level up your war rank?  Is it just a matter of earning gold for the team, experience for the team, spending gold on citadel upgrades, or what? 

I apologize if this newbie topic has been answered before, but the search function did not reveal any threads.

just control flags.. controlling flags boosts your war rank.. the longer you hold flags the faster you get a higher war rank, the more you hold the faster you get the next war rank...

Another quick question - is there any type of progress bar to see how close your side is to achieving the next war rank?

I would like to see a better representation of what your current war rank is, and how close you are to achieving the next war rank on the UI.  Currently, it shows how many points you have, but the number needed for the next rank is not displayed.  Also, it is displayed in an arbitrary place, (on your XP bar?).  I thought the patch notes said this was changed, however, when I logged in and played a game or two I noticed that my War Rank stuff was ontop of my XP bar still.  Very hard to read and understand.  I would rather see War Rank displayed by each team's icon for the game goal or somewhere else on the UI that is easier to read and understand exactly what it is, and how long until my team achieves their next War Rank.

That is correct, I would rather that number be my current xp/requirement for next level... and have war rank displayed elsewhere prominently so I know when we are about to rank up and head to the base.

Aye what would be best is a dark and light bar, with dark flags behind the dark bar, and light flags behind the light bar showing how many flags that side has captured.  And the bars show the sides progress to the next war level, and current one, for each side.

Or something like that
