The needy AI is driving me bonkers!

Hello there

I have done a few searches and can not seem to find a mod that disables the 'missions' that the AI gives you.
If there is one could you point me to it?
If not...some ideas:

-On/Off switch
--The ability to turn missions on and off

-Lax/Normal/Harsh penalties/gains
--Lax: 5% loss on any failed mission (static value)
--Harsh: 10% gain on any fulfilled mission (again, static)
--normal and the unmentiond loss/gain above are normal

-Friend or Foe offers
--Any/Ally/Foe/Loners toggles to determine who can give you missions

-Request volume
--Standard/High/Low/Variable for the amount of requests you recive
--Variable would have a subsetting that you can use to make requests (inversly)proportional to the time played or their % of attitude towards you.

-A linking of the above

Well, those are some off the cuff ideas, and I do not even know if you can mod that portion of the game :)

-----------------------------------
My other question is far more simple.

Is anyone working on a mod of sorts that allows players to give the AI missions?

:digichet: Thanks for any help or information provided and good gaming to you.

Well, to disable missions all you really have to do is lock the teams. But with no missions there are no alliances.

It's also not possible to make a mod to allow players to give AI missions, so nobody is working on one of those :P

You could mod the time between requests.

timeBetweenQuests 180

In the gameplay file.

You could increase that to an ungodly amount and just hope you don't take that long. Though I cannot say if the first quest is time or encounter based (or both, since I never get a quest until I 'encounter' an AI).

you could try setting the time between requests to -1... an infinite amount of time instead of an insanely large number

Ya, but with a large number, if you get the request, it means go eat and sleep. Or you end up like ->:dur:

Heh, I actually DO want missions requests and breakable alliances though...otherwise I would just lock the teams.

I guess there would have to be a fix that makes donations and 'acts of kindness' count FOR you in their eyes...THEN have the crazy mod I proposed...sans player given missions :(

Thank you for the info so far...I do hope someone takes an interest in this neat, is poorly implemented, diplomacy system.

The second mini-expansion is supposed to include as massive overhaul of the diplomacy system. (along with things like alternative methods of conquering planets, intelligence gathering, etc.)

This sounds promising...I will keep an eye out for it :) thank you.
